Bowling for Veterans is a local event presented by Save-A-Joe, Inc. A 501c3 charity organization focused on raising money to help Veterans in need of assistance with homelessness, disabilities, and finances. This organization is run by Paul Shifferer a retired Master Sergeant.
Paul had been hosting ‘Bowling for Veterans’ for some time but wanted to do more. Now that he had his charity organization, he could begin raising more awareness for such a worthy cause. Because of ‘Save-A-Joe’ this was the first year Bowling for Veterans could take sponsors for the event. Unlike some charities, Paul made it a point for each event to have 100% of their proceeds go to a charity in need. For ‘Bowling for Veterans’ all the ticket sales, raffle sales and donations went to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV). With our professional involvement in our nation’s military and support of our Veterans, this event was a perfect fit for Radco Industries, and an honor to sponsor. In addition to being a sponsor we had over 15 Radco friends, family and employees attend this event. All our ticket sales for attendance went towards the MSHV. The event itself had a morning time to bowl and an afternoon time as well. This was not a competitive day of bowling but just a space for friends and family to gather having fun while supporting their community. There was pizza, soda, raffle baskets and even Captain Jack Sparrow for the kids. Radco Industries donated 2 ‘loot crates’ for the basket raffle, stuffed for the firearm aficionado, including Radcolube® CLP GUN OIL samples for two lucky attendees to win. This event not only gave an opportunity for the St. Charles and Veteran community to discover Radco Industries, but it also gave our company a chance to reach out and make real connections with those that are doing so much for our Veterans. From the motorcycle riders for the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association to the staff at MSHV, each interaction cultivated a new relationship for Radco Industries within our community. Now that we have made that connection we will have more opportunities in the future to support and engage in other worthy causes. We would like to thank Save-A-Joe, Inc. & the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans for their amazing efforts in our local veteran community.
